It happened by accident, but it seems fitting that the 100th post on HardRockDaddy.com is a recap of the 100th episode of That Metal Show (Season 12, Episode 3 featuring Sebastian Bach and Rex Brown).
The following is a recap of this week’s show…
MUSICAL GUEST – Vinny Appice
IN STUDIO GUESTS – Sebastian Bach & Rex Brown (Pantera, Kill Devil Hill)
Rex Brown talked about his new book “Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story Of Pantera.” The book shares Brown’s view of the 20 years that he spent with Pantera.
Sebastian Bach entered in typical Baz style, loud and energized. The towering Bach picked up Brown like he was a child as he approached the round table. There was a brief discussion about Bach’s new CD/DVD – “ABachalypse Now.” Eddie Trunk and Jim Florentine attended one of the concerts on the DVD at the Nokia Theater. It was revealed that Bach’s guitarist quit an hour before showtime due to a contract dispute.
Brown discussed how opening for Skid Row helped break Pantera’s career. Bach discovered Pantera when he was playing a show in Fort Worth, TX with a band called Madam X. Eddie brought up the fact that Brown claims that Pantera crushed Skid Row every night on that tour. Bach didn’t agree, but he did say that following Pantera on the “Vulgar Display Of Power” tour was not easy.
HARD ROCK DADDY NOTE: I saw Pantera open for Skid Row on that tour at The Paramount Theater at Madison Square Garden. Pantera absolutely kicked as much ass as any opening band. However, Skid Row was in their prime and they were even better than Pantera. Few frontmen can touch Bach when he is on his game.
METAL MODEM – Interview with Danko Jones
Jones discussed how extensively the band tours, and stated “We’ve been doing it so long, I have no life or job skills left.” He also discussed the band’s latest album “Rock And Roll Is Black And Blue.”

THAT METAL SHOW BOOK CLUB
Don Jamieson read a passage from Peter Criss’s book “Makeup to Breakup: My Life In and Out of KISS” about Ace Frehley’s funny, but disturbing self-gratification in a hotel while on tour.
STUMP THE TRUNK
In honor of the 100th episode, Don and Jim picked a question from the first episode that Eddie got wrong. He got it right this time. The question was…
Name the four core musicians in the band Rebel Meets Rebel (David Allan Coe, Dimebag, Vinnie Paul, Rex Brown).
