MUSICAL GUEST: Lita Ford
Lita was the first guest ever on the show, and now she is the first female musical guest. She has a new book coming out that chronicles her entire life, and confirmed that people will be mad at her, the sign of a good book. She is currently working on a new album with Gary Hoey.
TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT: No KISS performance at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.
Jim – Take it. Jim would rather see no KISS than the current lineup play.
Don – Leave it. Can’t understand why the current lineup would play when the original lineup is the one being inducted.
Eddie – Leave it. Sees both sides of it, but wishes that the original band would play a song or two together. Eddie blames the RRHOF for waiting so long to induct the band. If they had done it when they were eligible, they would have had the original band playing because they were together at that time.
GUESTS:
Mick Jones
Founding member of Foreigner was recently inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Like KISS, Mick feels that Foreigner is also being disrespected by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and it’s become a bit of a thorn in his side. He revealed that even he was surprised at the success of the band’s debut album. They started outselling all of the top bands like The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin fairly quickly, and toured arenas faster than most bands.
Like many bands with a transcendent ballad, Foreigner often times got lumped in with soft rock bands because of it. Mick discussed what it was like to play the song in front of a German metal festival crowd. He said that it was a tough crowd, but they were crying out for the song to be played.
Foreigner will be doing a big summer tour this year with Styx and Don Felder.
Leslie West
The legendary Mountain guitarist was already seated when the show came back from commercial. Leslie had the bottom half of his right leg amputated in 2011 after complications from diabetes.
Eddie brought up the fact that Leslie and Mick had history together. It turns out that the duo played in a band together. Leslie’s short version of the story is that he fired him and Mick went on to start Foreigner and sell 100 million albums. The two seem to have a genuine bond with no hard feelings over the firing.
Leslie has influenced numerous modern-day guitarists, one of them being Zakk Wylde who thinks of him as a father figure.
A number of Leslie’s songs have been used as samples in current hip-hop songs. He is the number 2 artist sampled by hip-hop artists (second only to Billy Squier).

Marty is currently living in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese. His latest solo album – Inferno – is coming out this spring. This will be his first worldwide release in a long time, and will be touring the world in support of it. He talked about how flattered he was to be in the company of Mick, Leslie and Lita. He is an unorthodox guitar player, and he marvels at the solo that Mick did on “Hot Blooded.” The one thing that he misses most about living in America is cereal…“stuff like Crunch Berries simply doesn’t exist here.”
