This week’s Three For Thursday theme is…
All of the songs are about places where people live, and the albums were all released in the 80’s. However, this week’s theme – JEWISH ROCK STARS – was inspired by the early arrival of Chanukah this year. Each band features Jewish frontmen. Ever the over-achievers, KISS actually has two Jewish frontmen (Gene Simmons – real name Chaim Witz & Paul Stanley – real name Stanley Harvey Eisen). Rush’s Geddy Lee is actually named Gary Lee Weinrib. Geddy originated from his mother’s pronunciation of Gary with a strong Yiddish accent. David Lee Roth used his real name, a unique approach for a Jewish rock star.
