PUBLISHER’S PICK OF THE WEEK (By Adam Waldman)
NO RESOLVE- “Love Me To Death”
“Love Me To Death,” the latest single off of No Resolve’s first full-length album, has already started getting traction on SiriusXM’s Octane. It’s not surprising for a few reasons. First of all, Octane seems to regularly be ahead of the pack when it comes to breaking new artists (and even featuring new songs by established artists for that matter). Secondly, this song fits right into the pocket of the station’s sound.
“Love Me To Death” has a similar vibe to Hinder’s “How Long,” albeit with a bit more angst to it in the vein of Breaking Benjamin and early Three Days Grace. It’s not uncommon for Active Rock songs to tackle the subject of addiction. No Resolve’s spin on the subject is not of the drug variety though; it’s about a relationship. With clever lyrics and a great hook, this is a song that should be getting spins sooner rather than later.
PUBLISHER’S PREDICTIONS (By Adam Waldman)
Greta Van Fleet is the beneficiary of good timing. Not that their single “Highway Tune” isn’t deserving of the #1 position (it definitely is), but their current spin count would not have them in that position in many instances. Adding to their good fortune is the fact that the other two songs in the top 3 are currently declining. Papa Roach closed the gap a bit this week, but they still remain over 350 spins behind. Even if Greta Van Fleet plateaus next week, they should still remain on top through the end of the month. Of course, if they start dropping, then all bets are off.
Nothing More’s “Go To War” lost some steam, but still increased spins. We’ve seen it happen in recent times where a song looks like it’s peaking and then it suddenly gets a big boost, so it’s too early to count Nothing More out yet. Keep an eye on Theory Of A Deadman’s “Rx,” and Foo Fighters’ “The Sky Is A Neighborhood.” Both have potential to battle for the top in the coming weeks.
HRD SPIN CONTROL (by Adam Waldman and Jon Loveless)
Each week, we will share the songs that we think should be added to rotations, alongside the songs that we feel should be dropped from rotations, either because they are a bad fit for the format, or because they have run their course and it’s time for a new single from the artist.

THE BREAKDOWN (by Jon Loveless)
NOTABLE CHART MOVEMENT
Theory of a Deadman climbs past a slowly fading Stone Sour chart topper to break into the Top 10…
A new Foo Fighters single reaches the Top 20, unsurprisingly. Mastodon joins Foo Fighters as other songs slip below them on their way out…
Palaye Royale manages a Top 30 single out of the song they necromanced yet again…
Thirty Seconds To Mars moves into the Top 40…
Sons of Texas scores the week’s only new arrival in the entire published chart.
THREE UP & THREE DOWN
RISING
Theory Of A Deadman – “Rx”
Foo Fighters – “The Sky Is A Neighborhood”
10 Years – “Novacaine”
FALLING
Royal Blood – “Lights Out”
Foo Fighters – “Run”
Beartooth – “Sick Of Me”
TRENDS AND OBSERVATIONS
I happened to see Sons of Texas during the summer. The upcoming album should be quite good based on the new material that they previewed for the crowd that night. It could be a real beacon in an otherwise low period for heavier/more active rock. Hopefully, radio will at least throw fans a bone.
WRAP-UP
