I can’t help but feel sad every week I look at this list lately. Only a few albums (yes albums) are recent releases. Most of these titles are in the $5 section at Walmart and the $5.99 section at Best Buy.
So many great bands have released material in the last year. Many listed in the on this site. Volbeat and Avenged new albums not in the Top 25? Deep Purple released an album this month and already out of the top 25? Unfortunately no one seems to be buying music.
I can only hope that bands continue to make new music even though the business side of that decision seems to have disappeared. At least Metallica are going strong!🤘🏻

I agree with you, Tommy. Unfortunately, when they changed the methodology for the chart, it made greatest hits albums (and most of Metallica’s catalog) the highest ranking. While sales are definitely down, the reason for the change is that downloads and streams are now being taken into account in the rankings.
