MUSICAL GUEST – Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob)
Mike talked about the recent tour that Adrenaline Mob just finished with Drowning Pool and the band’s latest album, Dearly Departed. The band will soon be heading over to Brazil for a few weeks. He talked about moving on after A.J. Pero’s death, and said that A.J. told them that he wanted them to go on (he was about to leave the tour because he wasn’t feeling well). The tour that they’re currently doing is a tribute to A.J. Pero. He is also working on a new project called Beautiful Disaster with Chad Szeliga (Breaking Benjamin and BLS) and a great new singer named Nick Coyle.
TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT – Bands Airing Their Grievances Publicly On Social Media (Black Sabbath – Ozzy and Bill Ward)
JIM – Take it. Sabbath has been fighting since 1979 when Bill Ward told Ozzy he was out of the band. They always end up making up. Predicts that Ward will end up on the new album and play some shows.
DON – Take it. Ward knows that if he takes a shot at Ozzy that Ozzy will fire back. He did find it a bit suspicious that the timing is close to the release of Ward’s new album.
EDDIE – Take it. He thinks that it’s awesome. Hated the press releases that they used to get from publicists. It’s always about money, control, ego and politics. Gives Ward the credit for laying things out there truthfully.
GUESTS – Taime Down, Mark Slaughter, Andy Biersack
TAIME DOWN (Faster Pussycat)
Brought out a bottle of Jack Daniels for Eddie, who drank a lot of Jack on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. Faster Pussycat is working on new material now. He said that the most popular songs that the band plays live are “Babylon” and “Bathroom Wall.”
MARK SLAUGHTER
Just released his first solo record ever, entitled Reflections In The Rearview Mirror via iDitty Digital Download Card, CD and iTunes. Still doing Slaughter and touring, but wanted to “make art.” Mark said that good songs are good songs, and it’s your musical environment that makes you who you are. He has done some voices for cartoons and jingles for Disney. Mark proved that he can still hit the high notes.
ANDY BIERSACK (Black Veil Brides)
Just did Monsters Of Rock in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He said that he’s been watching TMS for years, and was honored to be on this show. Eddie said that BVB is the future, and they have the responsibility to carrying the torch. Andy said that he feels that young bands need to put on a show to inspire people to want to come and see them. He said that people complain that a lot of young bands don’t represent the things that they enjoy, and blamed it on bands being lazy. He said that he loves rock and roll and doesn’t want to see it die.
They discussed the passionate fanbase that BVB has, and also the polar opposite of those who hate them. He said that they are not everyone’s cup of tea, and that he doesn’t focus on the haters.
Andy talked about being a fan of 80s music, and how important that generation is to the younger hard rock musicians today. They are the first generation after the depressing era (90s).
Black Veil Brides live DVD coming out on July 10th called “Alive And Burning” (shot in L.A.). He said that the bands the he grew up loving were cool, and that’s why BVB incorporates that into their music.
He was 17-yrs old when he drove across the country from Cincinnati to L.A. with no money and lived in his car. He slept in rehearsal space parking lots because there was always someone there. He would go to 7-11 to get the food that they were going to throw out at the end of the night for free. He lived alone in his car, but the whole band was in cars in the parking lot together. The first guy that he ever met was Chris Holmes from W.A.S.P. (who was also living in his car).
