Ahead of the release of their long-awaited upcoming album (in 2015), Rev Theory have released “Born 2 Destroy.” This will be the band’s first release on Another Century Records, which also features fellow well-known hard rock acts: Like A Storm, Otherwise and Fozzy.
Although Rev Theory has garnered attention on SiriusXM’s Octane and Active Rock radio, the band has given new meaning to the term “arena rock,” with their connection to the WWE and the exposure that they get from numerous hockey teams with songs like “Hell Yeah” and “Voices.” Their music is also featured on television and in video games.
Both lyrically and musically, “Born 2 Destroy” seems tailor-made to continue generating attention in venues that go well beyond traditional and satellite radio (although the song has gained traction on both already).
With “Born 2 Destroy,” Rev Theory’s sound continues to evolve while staying true to the style that they have developed through the years. Still melodic with catchy hooks, the band has dialed up the intensity with this powerful track that features Julien Jorgensen’s heavy guitar, a driving rhythm and Rich Luzzi’s vocals, which at times, are reminiscent of Myles Kennedy’s style with Alter Bridge.
It’s been nearly four years since Rev Theory released Justice, but if “Born 2 Destroy” is a taste of what’s to come in 2015, then it definitely will have been worth the wait.
