Motley Crue “kickstarted our hearts” and made us all “feel good.” Guns ‘N Roses showed us what it’s like to dance with “Mr. Brownstone,” and Buckcherry got us all “lit up again.” And now, Charm City Devils are “feeling no pain” as they take their “shot” at becoming the next great “dirty” hard rock band by unapologetically embracing the debaucherous side of rock and roll.
In most circles, “dirty” is an insulting description. However, for Charm City Devils, it is meant as the ultimate compliment, placing them in the rarified air of the aforementioned bands that have turned “dirty” into an art form. Like their predecessors, Charm City Devils’ brand of hard rock taps into the primal side of humanity.
With their latest single, “Shots” Charm City Devils are not reinventing the wheel, but they are filling a void that currently exists in the hard rock genre.
For the last several years, Buckcherry has almost single-handedly carried the “dirty” rock torch with this generation of hard rock music fans. Thanks to Charm City Devils, led by frontman extraordinaire, John Allen, Buckcherry no longer has to go it alone.
“Shots” is the first single from the bands third album entitled Battles, which will be released on September 23rd on The End Records (the band’s third record label). While the band has enjoyed some previous success with the singles “Man Of Constant Sorrow” and “Devil Is A Woman,” “Shots” should be the song that elevates Charm City Devils into the upper echelon of modern hard rock bands. As the saying goes…“the third time’s a ‘charm’!”
As good as the studio version of the song is, it is even better when performed live. The band recently opened for The Winery Dogs on the last leg of the U.S. tour. And though they were technically the opening act, Charm City Devils owned the stage like a headliner.
If you are a fan of bands like Motley Crue, Guns ‘N Roses and Buckcherry, give Charm City Devils a “shot!”
