It’s 2014. The hair metal craze has long since passed, relegated to classic rock status at this point. However, the one band that still carries the “Aquanet torch” – Steel Panther – is about to be rewarded for their dedication to all things heavy metal – an opening slot on Judas Priest’s Redeemer Of Souls North American Tour. That’s right, “Fanthers,” your boys are heading out to the highway with Judas Priest, and they couldn’t be more excited!
“I cannot believe that we are touring with Judas Priest, one of the most iconic heavy-metal bands of all-time. We are going to have THE most amazing tour this fall!” exclaimed vocalist, Michael Starr.
If this was thirty years ago, this would undoubtedly be called the “F**K the PMRC!” tour, as Steel Panther makes most “obscene” bands look like choirboys.
The band will be bringing their unique style of hair metal/comedy songs to North American cities beginning October 1st in Rochester, NY. Steel Panther fans can take advantage of a limited number of VIP Experiences in each city.
There was a time when Steel Panther was looked at as nothing more than a novelty band by most, but opening for a legendary band like Judas Priest will show people that, musically speaking, this band is no joke!
One can only imagine the “cocky” lyrics that will be featured on Steel Panther’s next album after opening for Priest, as the band is already not known for being modest (see “The Burden Of Being Wonderful”).
