Musical Guest – Charlie Benante (Anthrax)
During the show it was revealed that the thrash drummer is something of a renaissance man. To the casual observer, you would not know that he was a drummer if you tuned in during the break where he was jamming on guitar. He also drew the cover art for an S.O.D. album cover. Benante discussed the next Anthrax album, and said that it will probably come out in 2015.
NEWS:
Eddie discussed AC/DC news. Brian Johnson told Eddie that there will be a new album in 2014, and a 40-city tour to coincide with the band’s 40th anniversary.
TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT: AC/DC Album & Tour
Jim – Take it. Loved the Black Ice album and tour. Thought that it was the best album in tour in the last 20 years, so he was excited that they’ll be putting out new music and coming back around.
Don – Takes the tour, but could leave a new album. Feels like there are at least 15 mandatory songs that the band must play from their catalog, and doesn’t see the need for new material. Said that the Black Ice tour might have been the best show that he’s seen in his life.
Eddie – Take it. They are one of the all-time great bands, and thinks that it’s still special to see them because they don’t come around that often. Eddie said that he heard some rumblings that somebody may have to sit the tour out because of some health issues.

Maybe the most interesting TMS Top 5 ever because it gave you an inside look at what the guys are thinking. This list excludes Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Ozzy Osbourne, all of whom say that they have no interest in being on the show. None of the guys chose Ritchie Blackmore because he has stated that he will not talk about Rainbow or Deep Purple.

GUESTS:
Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe & Chris Adler
The band started out 20 years ago playing in basement parties for beer. They said that they never thought it would get any better than playing CBGB’s. Eddie discussed the band’s loyal fanbase that has been built up over the years because they don’t have a signature song or album. Chris said that they’re a career band and their fans are career fans. They have never tried to write a single, which they believe helped create a different kind of fanbase.
Upcoming film about band called As The Palaces Burn. The original intent of the movie was to showcase the fans of the band, but things changed when Blythe was arrested in Prague, Czech Republic by a SWAT team because of a fan that fell from the stage two years prior, went into a coma and subsequently died. Blythe was charged with manslaughter. The band had no recollection of the incident. The tour date seemed like every other show.
The band needed to raise $400,000 in total for Blythe’s bail. They sold off equipment and did whatever they could to raise the money. Blythe ended up spending 37 days locked up in Prague in general population before making bail.
After making bail, he was able to come back to the United States. Of his own accord, he returned to Prague to stand trial and face his accusers. He truly believed that it was a tragic accident caused a number of events. The victim’s own uncle said that the band wasn’t at fault. Blythe wanted to speak to the family to give them answers to their questions. He felt that he was the only one that could address the questions, and wanted to do whatever he could to alleviate their pain. He ended up meeting with the family afterwards, but he says that he’ll never reveal the conversation publicly.
Ultimately, the family wanted the band to be a spokesperson for safer shows for the fans.
Blythe has a book coming out early next year called Dark Days, which reveals all of the things that happened in prison where cameras are not allowed. The band is planning on getting back into the studio by the end of the year, and mixing in a handful of dates.
Adler discussed that he’ll be spending time taking his kid to school in his Prius.
