On April 1, 2013, it was announced in a press release that Hard Rock Daddy’s international audience had reached 48 countries, a somewhat surprising achievement given that the site was officially launched on March 1, 2013. Serendipitous timing has allowed an even greater milestone to be reached on Father’s Day weekend. As of today, Hard Rock Daddy is being read in over 100 countries around the world!
The site was originally launched with the intention of being a mixture of hard rock music articles and parenting stories from a modern day dad. While there will still be some stories about my children (see “Rock and Roll Children”), Hard Rock Daddy has evolved into more of a niche site that strives to offer something unique to its worldwide audience of hard rock music fans.
Weekly features such as a recap of the Octane Big ‘Uns Countdown (with video playlist), Billboard Hard Rock Music Charts and Three For Thursday have become very popular as the traffic to the site has dramatically increased.
An ongoing series about Independent Hard Rock Bands has generated interest from numerous artists. There will be a special feature coming up in July to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of some well-known independent hard rock bands, in addition to some up-and-comers that are currently flying under the radar.
Stories about my personal experiences will continue to be shared in an ongoing series of articles called Hard Rock Music Time Machine.
Music reviews will continue to increase in frequency, and some exciting new features surrounding Hard Rock Daddy’s YouTube channel are being prepared for launch in the near future.
On Sunday, Hard Rock Daddy will feature the Top 5 Songs For Father’s Day, a list that hits home for me on more than one level, and also shows why reaching a milestone on this holiday is so meaningful.
